Days of Humanitarian Blockade in Gaza

Over 40 countries, one single goal : GAZA

Waves of Freedom Switzerland (WOFA)is an independent and peaceful grassroots movement, part of the Global Sumud Flotilla. This collective action brings together activists, NGOs, and citizen organizations from over 40 countries worldwide.

Our goal : to deliver vital humanitarian aid and infant formula to Gaza while publicly denouncing the illegal siege. Through this urgent humanitarian mission, WOFA calls for international accountability and concrete mobilization in the face of injustice.

A Citizen Action for Justice

In 2025, Dr. Hicham El Ghaoui founded Waves of Freedom Switzerland (WOFA), a citizen-led organization committed to the defense of human rights, international solidarity, and non-violent action.

WOFA represents the Swiss delegation within the Global Sumud Flotilla movement, a collective initiative aimed at breaking the blockade of Gaza and responding to a major humanitarian emergency through concrete, peaceful means.

What Guides Us ?

Human Rights First : Switzerland, home of the Geneva Conventions, has a responsibility to uphold human dignity and rights.
Non-Violent Action : Our strength is peace. We reject provocation and believe in non-violent action as a force against injustice.
Independence : WOFA is a citizens’ collective, free from political or institutional ties. We act autonomously and responsibly.
Duty to Act : In the face of horror, inaction is not an option. Our commitment stems from the human duty to stand up against indifference.

Our Objective

In Gaza, the humanitarian crisis is critical. Boats must set sail without delay to deliver life-saving aid. Waves of Freedom is joining the Global Sumud Flotilla, alongside citizens from more than 38 countries, to break the blockade and open a humanitarian corridor to Palestine. For its first mission, the Swiss delegation has already secured seven (7) boats to participate in the global movement toward Gaza.

Flotilla Coordination

WOFA oversees the logistical coordination of the flotilla : mobilizing crews, preparing humanitarian cargo, connecting partners. We work day and night to support the flotilla and ensure that aid reaches Gaza under the best possible conditions.

Fundraising and Boat Financing

We run fundraising campaigns to finance boat charters and purchase humanitarian supplies. Every donation helps to turn this mission into reality: launching boats, saving lives, and denouncing genocide. A policy of transparency and efficiency guides our resource management.

A Global Citizen-Led Initiative

In the face of government inaction, it is citizens, associations, and solidarity networks that are stepping up. Our goal is to demonstrate that a human and resolute response is possible. Take action now !

Justice & Solidarity

The initiative Waves of Freedom Switzerland is part of a global movement for justice, solidarity, and respect for international law. By joining the Global Sumud Flotilla, the Swiss delegation affirms that “Swiss neutrality” must not mean indifference.

International law

Through this non-violent action, WOFA amplifies the voice of the Swiss people who stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people, a voice that breaks the silence of complicity. As the guardian of the Geneva Conventions, Switzerland carries a special responsibility: to defend international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians in times of war. This commitment cannot remain theoretical, it demands action.

Freedom Flotillas

Several flotillas have already set sail to break the blockade of Gaza and deliver vital humanitarian aid. Each journey is an act of peaceful resistance, a step forward toward justice, dignity, and freedom. The Global Sumud Flotilla is part of this international movement, continuing the momentum of previous maritime initiatives in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
