The briefing will detail widespread reports of medical neglect- including the denial of life-saving prescription drugs for heart conditions and cancer- grossly inadequate food and water, and physical and psychological abuse by prison guards as well as at point of interception. The Adalah team will directly address the recent statement by Israel's National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gir, who publicly praised the harsh treatment, asserting it is state policy to treat the peaceful humanitarian activists as "supporters of terrorism."

This is a critical moment for international media to expose Israel's systematic repression of human rights defenders and to make clear that the same, and far worse, is inflicted daily on Palestinians under Israel's illegal occupation.
