Saif Speaks: “This is not symbolic—it’s survival.”

In his interview, Saif declared: “The blockade is illegal. Gaza is starving. The world has a choice: watch, or act. We chose to act.” He emphasized that the flotilla is not only about delivering aid—it’s about piercing through silence. It is led by ordinary citizens from over 20 countries, challenging governments through peaceful action. Saif also introduced the story of Madleen, a 5-year-old from Gaza whose voice of resilience and innocence has become a symbol stronger than many political speeches.

Spain’s Message: “We named our boat Handala”

A Spanish representative revealed their boat is named Handala, after the iconic Palestinian child created by artist Naji al-Ali. “A reminder that we do not turn our back on Palestine. That we remain standing, facing injustice.” Handala is now not only a drawing, but a ship sailing with food, medicine, and hope.

The flotilla unites Swiss, Spanish, French, South African, and Arab delegations; youth leaders like Saif spearheading peaceful resistance; and boats with symbolic names like “Handala” and “Heidi” carrying messages across the sea. Together, they form a civilian convoy rooted in justice, driven by conscience, and powered by global solidarity.
