In 2025, Dr. Hicham EL Ghaoui founded Waves of Freedom Switzerland “WOFA”
a civilian-led initiative representing the Swiss delegation,
to actively join and support the Global Sumud Flotilla in its mission for justice and humanitarian action

A Civilian-Led Mission for Justice

Waves of Freedom “WOFA” Switzerland is a grassroots movement and part of the Global Sumud Flotilla, committed to breaking the illegal blockade on Gaza by sea.

We deliver urgent humanitarian aid, call for international accountability, and amplify the voices that the world ignores.

Our Movement inspired by Palestine – Guided by the courage of Gazan civilians, supported by global civil society.

Our mission: Peaceful resistance. Direct action. Real solidarity.

Our strength comes from the people—mothers, students, doctors, and retirees—uniting across Switzerland to act where politics fail.

We don’t talk change. We sail it.

Every effort is directed toward action: organizing the flotilla, gathering supplies, and building public pressure to end the blockade. We act with full transparency and unstoppable determination.

We Are Unique

Unlike traditional NGOs, we don’t wait for permission. We move fast, work independently, and act boldly.

We are part of a global movement but anchored in Swiss values of peace and neutrality. We don't speak for Gaza we stand with Gaza. Our flotilla is one of the few civilian-led missions that defies the blockade through nonviolent, coordinated sailing convoys carrying not just aid, but the world’s conscience.
